One Day in Monaco from the Hôtel de France

Morning

One day in Monaco begins with breakfast at the hotel, before heading to the Prince's Palace, about a 15-minute walk away. On the Rock, take some time to wander the lanes and small shops around the palace before reaching the Palace Square.

Don't miss the changing of the guard, at exactly 11:55am. It's a real tradition, held every single day in front of the Prince's Palace, and one of the moments visitors look forward to most.

Right after, head to the Oceanographic Museum, just a short walk away, to see its aquariums and the sea view from the terrace.

Lunch

For lunch, there are a few options depending on your mood and budget. Maison Sœurs, in the lanes of the Rock, serves generous Italian food (fresh pasta, pizza). Castelroc, right across from the Palace, offers more traditional Mediterranean cuisine.

Another option, more local and more affordable: walk down Rampe Major to the Condamine market and eat like the locals do. To finish on a sweet note, head to Santo Gelato, right next to the market, for artisanal gelato.

AfternoonThe afternoon can continue around Larvotto, home to Monaco's main beaches. Right next door, Mareterra, the brand-new district built on the sea, is worth a look: its waterfront promenade and park make for a pleasant walk and a glimpse of Monaco's future.

EveningTo end the day, head to the Monte-Carlo Casino, a must-see in the Principality, with a stroll through its gardens. Right beside it, the fully pedestrian One Monte-Carlo district brings together luxury boutiques and gardens for one last walk before heading back to the hotel.
